This article applies specifically to Windows PowerPoint. The Conferences i/o Mac App does not add to the ribbon in Mac PowerPoint.


Occasionally, users of the Windows PowerPoint Add-In may install or update the Conferences i/o PowerPoint Add-in, but not see it available in PowerPoint.

Normal Behavior


The PowerPoint Add-In should appear as a menu choice, after the Help ribbon:



Check if the Add-In is listed under "Insert" ribbon


If the Add-In is listed under the "Insert" ribbon in PowerPoint, that means the first-generation version is installed. If so, install the second-generation version of the add-in.


Check the Windows list of installed programs


  1. Click into the Windows Start Menu

  2. Type in "programs" to find the Control Panel's list of installed programs
  3. Wait for the list of programs to load and locate "Conferences.io"

    If Conferences i/o is in this list, move to the next troubleshooting area.

    If Conferences i/o is not in this list, the PowerPoint Add-In did not successfully install. Download and run the installer again.


Check to see if the Conferences i/o Add-In is "activated" in PowerPoint


  1. Open PowerPoint

  2. Click the File menu

  3. Click Options

  4. In the PowerPoint Options dialog box, click Add-Ins in the left pane

  5. Review the list of Add-Ins

    If "Conferences" is listed under Inactive Application Add-ins, activate the add-in by clicking on Go... next to Manage COM Add-Ins at the bottom of the dialog box
  6. Check the checkbox next to Conferences then click OK
    If this succeeded, the Conferences i/o ribbon will appear in PowerPoint.

    If this does not resolve the issue, try installing by using the Alternative "MSI" installer version.

Check to see if Conferences i/o is listed as a disabled Add-In


  1. Open PowerPoint

  2. Click the File menu

  3. Click Options

  4. In the PowerPoint Options dialog box, click Add-Ins in the left pane

  5. At the bottom of the list of Add-Ins, change the Manage dropdown to Disabled Items then click Go...


  6. If Conferences is in the list of disabled Add-Ins, click on Conferences then click Enable.

    PowerPoint will attempt to enable the Add-In, and if successful it will disappear from this list.

  7. If the Conferences Add-In cannot be removed from the Disabled Items list, Contact Customer Support.
